Site Description 3- Bedroom farmhouse Requirements A packaged sewage treatment plant to cater for waste produced from 3-bedrooms (maximum 6-persons: P.E equivalent), one shower / bath, single sink, washing machine. Installation date Jan 2006 Product BioDisc BA Notes The client approached Klargester to discuss the options for replacing a failing brick Septic Tank. Key criteria were to reduce frequency of tank-emptying visits and to use existing soakaway without the risk of blockage. Major concern was also to reduce pollution of surrounding streams and watercourses.

BG BioDisc treatment plant + Sewage Pumping Station

Site Description A rural hamlet of nine houses Requirements The nine houses totalled a population equivalent of 60. In addition to the bedrooms each house featured numerous bathrooms, washing machines and potentially extra dishwashers that may be added by new homebuyers. Installation date November 2005 Product BioDisc BG + sewage pumping station Notes A new development on a brownfield site. Developer was looking to build nine individual homes of various sizes linked to a communal sewer. Sewer pipe would feed to a pumping station and then into a treatment plant located uphill in neighbouring farmland. Sewage plant would have to possess performance + capacity to cope with any future additional inflow, (such as dishwashers) to be fitted by new owners.

BL BioDisc treatment plant + Grease Trap serving a hotel /restaurant

Site Description A country hotel/restaurant Requirements Waste produced by various sources – Kitchen, toilets, residential quarters, laundry room. Installation date May 2005 Product BioDisc BL, Grease Trap. Notes The waste produced by this hotel was a cocktail of sewage, bar slops, kitchen fat/grease and cleaning products. The plant itself would experience a highly fluctuating pattern of inflow, (due to opening hours, seasonal peaks and special occasions), both of which called for a careful consideration when selecting the treatment solution. Other key criteria to be included were a client stipulation on silent operation and an absence of odour. Finally, due to the location, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) required a high level of discharge quality for consent to be granted.

Site Description A camping & caravan holiday park Requirements Waste produced by various sources – Toilet blocks, showers, sink stations, and the owners’ accommodation (4-bedroom house), located on site. Installation date May 2010 Product Envirosafe 80H Sewage Treatment Plant Notes With the site open for 8-months of the year, the plant would experience a fluctuating pattern of inflow. Also it would have to be cost-effective in purchase and still meet the demands of up to 250+ persons.

Oil/Water Separator – Truck maintenance depot

Site Description Truck maintenance depot Requirements Depot split into two external hard standing areas and internal maintenance bays with integrated floor drainage (totalling an area of 4046 sq metres). Within this site is located a vehicle washdown bay. Installation date November 2005 Product NS80 Class 1 Full Retention Separator + 8000 litre Washdown Separator. Notes Operated 24hrs, the truck maintenance depot is a site with a large area of concrete hardstanding. In addition to rainwater entering the drains are an array of pollutants - these include oil, grease, road tar and dirt, diesel fuel, and hydraulic fluid. A vehicle washdown bay also produces a quantity of road grit, dirt and debris. The total site’s drainage is linked into the local foul sewer network and is regularly monitored by the local water authority.
